An increasing number of companies and warehouses are now relying on forklifts equipped with lithium-ion batteries. Eimantas Bražinskas, Head of Linde department at Alwark, explains trends in the industry.
"Acid batteries require a lot of special care - it's inconvenient and incurs extra costs. Meanwhile, trucks equipped with lithium-ion batteries are enough to plug into an electricity power at any store, warehouse, or factory location. It is possible to charge them at any time, without having to recharge fully. It also charges 2-3 times faster, ”-says the specialist.
“The leading companies are counting the time it takes for the technician to drive and replace the acid battery which weigh is from several hundred kilograms to several tons and to charge it, load another battery and return the truck to the battery charging room”- says Eimantas.
